Growing up I moved A LOT. So you could say I’m a pro when it comes to moving. The whole process can seem daunting and your kids don’t always make it easier. Here are some tips to make the process smoother for you and some tricks to help your littles settle in a little easier.
Make Packing Fun
Make a game out of packing. If your kids are of age to help, let them. They love bubble wrap and you can make packing a race, or even have a contest to see who can find the most interesting thing in their room while packing.
Let Them Decorate Their Room
Sometimes change can be healthy. Letting your kids pick out new bedding or decorations for their rooms can make the whole experience exciting and something to look forward to. Let them feel like they have some control again.
Set Up Their Room First
One thing I learned throughout my years of moving is to set up the kids rooms first. You’ll thank me for this later. They will settle in faster and stay out of your way while you finish unpacking.
Housewarming Party
Whenever I move into a new place I like to have close friends over to bring in all the positive energy. Have a game night and start your new life out right with loved ones. It’s amazing what being surrounded by people you care about can do for the environment you live in
