Sneaker SZN 2023
Hey everyone! I'm Meg Ann Lee and I'm back with another edition of "Sneaker SZN".
It's officially SNEAKER SEASON. Yes, it’s time to bring out those AF1s and limited-edition shoes without the fear of our Midwest weather ruining them! If you have been following my blog for a while you might remember my Sneaker SZN post a few years ago with hip-hop artist TeaWhyB. I decided it was time for a little refresh!
When to choose a sneaker?
Always. As I get older, comfort really is becoming a necessity. If a sneaker goes with my outfit, I’m choosing that. I think sneakers used to be looked at as unprofessional but if you pick a clean, sleek, well branded sneaker and pair it with a suit or blazer, you’re ready for the office.
How to style
In today’s fashion trends ANYTHING goes, if you do it right. So, if there is a shoe you love WEAR IT. Look for colors that coordinate in your outfit or make your accessories all match. A monochromatic outfit with matching pops of color in your shoes and handbag is a winner in my book.
If your shoes are expensive let them be the main focus in your outfit. Don’t overdo it on the brands in one fit.

Diversify your shoe collection. When I posted my original sneaker blog in 2021, I was obsessed with Yeezys and mentioned my love for Kanye West ( that didn’t age well.) I still love the look of a yeezy but if I had put all my eggs in one basket I’d be stuck with a lot of sneakers that are “canceled”. Browse the styles of different brands and collections to diversity your collection.
Keep them clean
I’m the worst at this BUT an easy rule is clean them right after you wear them and put them back in their box or a clear stacking container to keep dust off of them
Remember, your style is your creative finger print.
